The City of Wilton Manors is approximately two square miles in area and is located in Broward County, just north of Downtown Fort Lauderdale. Wilton Manors is known by many as “The Island City” as it is surrounded on all sides by beautiful waterways and canals including the Middle River.
The City of Wilton Manors is ideally located within minutes of Fort Lauderdale Beach and Downtown Fort Lauderdale and is quickly becoming the “place to be” in South Florida. Cultural diversity is one of the many features and strengths of Wilton Manors. Children from many different ethnic backgrounds attend Wilton Manors Elementary School; the City's Police Department employs African-American, Haitian, and Hispanic officers; and the City Council includes openly gay elected officials and overall proudly lays claim to having one of the highest per capital populations of Gay and Lesbian individuals, couples and home owners in the United States.
Wilton Manors real estate offers an incredible range of homes and investment properties ranging from exclusive waterfront estates, new construction single family and town homes, and a number of fantastic condominium complexes, both new and established. One example of the areas of Wilton Manors, which add to its diverse charm, is Townhouse Isles, which is another island within this “Island City” that consists of town homes. Another example is Highland Estates, which in recent years has exploded with new development, a new six-acre waterfront park, and is now home to beautiful new construction town homes and extremely affordable condominiums and recently converted and renovated condominium homes.
The areas adjacent to Wilton Drive, also known as NE 4th Avenue, the city's signature thoroughfare, are home to the Arts and Entertainment District. Within the District, mixed-use development will soon provide for a pedestrian-oriented environment where residents and visitors can shop, dine, and experience the best of what Wilton Manors has to offer. Wilton Manors has acquired a great deal of park and open space, much of which is located on Florida's Middle River. The riverfront parks provide a host of leisure and recreational opportunities including a canoe trail, mangrove preserve, and two Nature walks.
