| Tarpon River |
Tarpon River is located on the Southwest edge of Fort Lauderdale’s Central Business District. It is bounded on the North and West by the New River, on the South by Davie Blvd, on the East by Andrews Ave., and is bisected by the Tarpon River (hence its name). Much of the neighborhood is heavily canopied with old trees and lush vegetation, making it an oasis in the middle of the City of Fort Lauderdale and a fantastic real estate location.
Parts of Tarpon River were included in the original City of Fort Lauderdale when it was first incorporated in 1911. Perhaps an ideal place to live for people who work downtown and wish to live the Downtown/Las Olas lifestyle, Tarpon River is across from the beautiful Performing Arts Center, the Science Museum and the Entertainment District. The riverfront east of 4th Ave. is being redeveloped with waterfront condominiums and the addition of the ‘River Walk’ which offers a wonderful mix of the arts, shopping, dining, and nightlife on the south side of the New River.
Many of the homes in Tarpon River are older homes, including some wood frame homes with incredible character and charm. For real estate investors and buyers who are wish to renovate a home in a great location to suit their individual needs and tastes, Tarpon River offers many options.
