About Rio Vista Area
The Rio Vista neighborhood is situated next to Downtown Fort Lauderdale. This community of over one thousand homes has street-lined trees, sidewalks and uniquely historic and architecturally remarkable homes. Rio Vista is also one of the oldest real estate communities in Fort Lauderdale.
Bounded by Federal Highway (US1) on the west, the Rio Vista real estate line is bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway, south of the New River and north of Southeast 12th Street. An era of prosperity and new transportation in the 1920s allowed Fort Lauderdale to begin the migration from an agricultural community to a real estate of resort town and residential areas. It was at that time that real estate like Rio Vista began to develop.
Today Rio Vista is considered one of the most prestigious and beautiful neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale by many. A drive through Rio Vista will showcase a variety of architecture and quite a few wood frame houses that are meticulously maintained and each unique. Many estate homes are in Rio Vista and Rio Vista Isles is home to some of the City’s finest properties and create an ambience that is truly rare with waterways, tree-lined streets, beautiful yet smaller parks. Words do not adequately describe Rio Vista. To truly experience this beautiful subdivision, one must drive through it and experience the qualities that make it one of our proudest City places to live.
