Background

"Rick Gibson" - Richard T. Gibson PA 

Born in Kittery, Maine to an Air force family, Gibson was able to move through much of the United States and was fortunate to have been placed in private school. Moving from New Hampshire and North Dakota to Pennsylvania and ultimately finishing his youngest years in Rancho Cordova, California, a suburb city of Sacramento.

A graduate of California State University, Sacramento with degrees in Psychology and Communication Studies, he pursued an entry level position with a United Tribune Cable Company, and was quickly promoted through producing and teaching television production to running a television advertising and production company.

While managing over 50 employees in the field of television production and advertising sales at the ripe age of 27, he was recruited by Viacom’s MTV Networks division to sell national television airtime out of the Los Angeles office. While with MTV Networks he succeeded as one of the highest producing national airtime salespeople in the U.S. for many years. Gibson accepted a more entrepreneurial position as SVP, Marketing for a potential internet IPO and then returned to the television to work for Fox.

After 18 years in Los Angeles, Gibson needed a change. An extended trip to Europe helped him conclude the East coast was a more interesting place to live. So, he sold his Los Angeles home and rather randomly chose Fort Lauderdale without any experience in real estate or having ever visiting Fort Lauderdale before. Gibson bought a small home in Middle River Terrace to get used to the area and pretty quickly decided that in order to become successful in real estate he would need his own license. The home was perfect for that time and the central location was a fortunate choice to learn a lot about Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding cities.

He is currently a Realtor, Founder and Team Leader of Gibson Group, a real estate listing and sales team under the brokerage of Re/Max Preferred, and Managing Partner of Gibson Group Property Management, LLC.
