The Gibson Group is best distinguished, as are many groups and organizations, by the background of their leader. Rick Gibson’s background is almost exclusively in sales, with an extremely heavy emphasis on marketing. Rick applied his previous sales and marketing experience after moving to South Florida in 2001, following an extremely successful career in national advertising sales and marketing. Rick has spent over 18 years prior to receiving his license and selling real estate in Florida in 2002, in corporate positions employed by companies including Viacom, MTV Networks, United Artists, and Tribune Company.
The bulk of Rick’s experience prior to Real Estate was in the sale of local, regional, and national television advertising space. The longest employment, with MTV Networks consisted of selling commercial time to the highest profile advertising agencies and advertisers nationwide, and primarily those based on the West Coast (Levis, The Gap, Clorox, Sony Pictures, Columbia, etc), as he lived and worked out of Los Angeles and was the exclusive representative of San Francisco with MTV Networks for many years. Other marketing and sales experience, as he was aggressively recruited but moved infrequently, included several SVP Marketing roles in marketing companies with Internet, print/magazine, and similar focus.
The Gibson Group is intentionally maintained with a select group of individuals, without expanding to a point, which may dilute the standards and values of Rick Gibson himself. In addition to Team members who work exclusively for The Gibson Group, Rick has chosen to align with a referral team, which can complement his own strengths and weaknesses. In particular, Rick believes strongly that the team of referral Realtor and experts must contain bilingual skills, and knowledge of virtually every market segment, from residential to commercial, and from luxury homes to homes for first-time buyers.
